I got Pete Rice signatures a couple of times when the Nashua Pirates were playing at Holman Stadium in the mid 80s. The way the Stadium is constructed, the players' clubhouse (more like a locker room) doors exited to the general concourse where fans walked. I don't know why I remember this, but each time I met Rice he was in the same spot: leaning back on a folding chair near the clubhouse door smoking a butt.
